MEJA Invests IDR 14.4 Billion in Three Companies, Including a Padel Sports Business

MEJA has invested IDR 14.4 billion in three companies, including the padel sports sector, building materials, and laboratory equipment as part of its business expansion.

Padel, a sport that has become increasingly popular among residents, is now subject to a 10% tax imposed by the Jakarta Provincial Government. This tax is applied as part of efforts to optimize regional revenue through the entertainment and recreation sector.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Furniture manufacturer PT Harta Djaya Karya Tbk (MEJA) announced an investment totaling IDR 14.4 billion in three different companies: PT Niat Djadi Atlet, PT Semitra Vana Persada, and PT Anagatha Djaya Artha. MEJA President Director Richie Adrian Hartanto explained that IDR 4.8 billion was allocated to PT Niat Djadi Atlet, a sports company focused on developing padel facilities and activities.

“The Company sees padel as a sport that is growing rapidly both globally and in Indonesia, with promising recreational and commercial market potential,” he said in an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, as quoted on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.

Another IDR 4.8 billion was allocated to PT Semitra Vana Persada, a trading company dealing in cement, sand, and household supplies. Richie said this move aligns with the Company’s interior construction and building materials procurement business lines. “This investment is intended to strengthen the supply chain and expand access to key raw materials, thereby improving operational efficiency and the competitiveness of the Company’s core business,” he said.

Next, IDR 4.8 billion was invested in PT Anagatha Djaya Artha, which operates in the trade of laboratory equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other general trading goods. “This is aligned with our interior and specialized furniture procurement activities, which often require supporting equipment. As such, this investment is projected to support business diversification and expand the Company’s market opportunities in the B2B and institutional sectors,” Richie said.

All of these investments are funded from internal cash and do not have a significant impact on the Company’s capital structure or operations. “The Company believes that these investment decisions are in line with our long-term growth strategy and will provide added value to shareholders,” Richie added.
